This is the 6th HellasQCI Newsletter The HellasQCI project has reached its successful completion, marking the end of more than three years of work to build Greece's national quantum communication infrastructure. This final newsletter edition covers the latest project milestones, outputs and the European initiatives carrying this work forward. HellasQCI Training Platform As part of the HellasQCI project's commitment to knowledge transfer and capacity building, a dedicated training platform has been developed to ensure that the educational resources produced throughout the project remain accessible to the wider community. The HellasQCI Training Platform brings together the educational resources developed throughout the project's three-year implementation, serving as a lasting repository for the quantum communications community. It hosts 148 presentations and recorded lectures from all major project events, including QCI Days Athens 2025, the Winter School in Thessaloniki, and training events in Crete and Athens, covering topics from Quantum Key Distribution and quantum-safe cryptography to European quantum communication infrastructures. The platform is freely accessible and will remain available beyond the project's lifetime. |

HellasQCI Community Joint Statement The HellasQCI Community has published its Joint Statement, confirming the shared commitment of national stakeholders to the development, adoption, and long-term sustainability of Greece's quantum communication infrastructure. The statement reflects the collective vision of a multistakeholder ecosystem (public authorities, national security bodies, critical infrastructure operators, industry, academia, and SMEs) built through structured engagement since the project's launch in 2023, including training programmes in Athens, Crete, and Thessaloniki, and the QCI Days 2025 event. It highlights the strategic value of experimental infrastructure for real-world testing, the role of the community in supporting innovation and Greece's emerging quantum value chain, and the need for structured governance aligned with the upcoming Greek National Quantum Strategy. |

HellasQCI QKD Equipment Installation and End-User Training at NKUA Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) devices and optical equipment for the HellasQCI network were delivered and installed at the premises of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) on 9 June 2026. A dedicated training session was conducted for end users, covering the hardware and software features of the ThinkQuantum QKD systems, supported protocols, and configuration for Software Defined Networking (SDN) mode. The session marked one of the final infrastructure milestones of the HellasQCI project, ensuring that the university's research team is equipped to operate and build on the deployed quantum communication infrastructure. |

The exchange reaffirmed the shared commitment of Greece and Luxembourg to advancing Europe's transition towards secure and resilient quantum communications. |

New HellasQCI Scientific Publication on Quantum-Secure Healthcare A new HellasQCI-supported publication entitled “Practical Deployment of Hybrid QKD and Post-Quantum Cryptography for Off-Site Hospital Data” has been published in IEEE Access. Authored by researchers from NCSR Demokritos and the University of Piraeus, the paper presents a practical security architecture combining Quantum Key Distribution, Post-Quantum Cryptography and centralised key management to protect medical imaging, electronic health records and inter-site healthcare data exchanges. Developed in the context of the HellasQCI healthcare pilot connecting Alexandra University Hospital and NCSR Demokritos, the approach uses PQC to maintain continuous quantum-resistant protection while QKD provides additional quantum-generated key material when available, supporting secure and resilient healthcare services without disrupting clinical operations. |

From HellasQCI to QPIC-AI: Advancing AI-Assisted Photonic QKD through EU–Republic of Korea Collaboration Building on the operational experience and expertise developed through HellasQCI, the new QPIC-AI project will advance more autonomous, stable and deployable Quantum Key Distribution systems. Coordinated by NCSR “Demokritos”, QPIC-AI represents a concrete exploitation pathway for the knowledge and capabilities gained through the HellasQCI healthcare pilot connecting NCSR “Demokritos” and Alexandra University Hospital. The project will combine photonic integrated circuits, FPGA processing, embedded AI and intelligent key management to automatically address environmental instabilities affecting QKD operation. Launched on 1 June 2026, QPIC-AI brings together European and Korean partners and validates its technologies in Athens, Vienna and Seoul, addressing interoperability, certification readiness and standards-aligned integration. The project demonstrates how HellasQCI results can support continued innovation and international collaboration in quantum-secure communications.
