The National Quantum Communication Infrastructures (NatQCIs) projects of Greece (HellasQCI), Spain (EuroQCI Spain), Austria (QCI-CAT) respectively, invite you to a captivating event that will take place in Athens the historical capital of Europe between 28-30 April 2025.
QCI Days Αthens 2025 is organised by GRNET – National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (HellasQCI coordinator), AIT Austrian Institute of Technology (QCI-CAT coordinator) and UPM – The Technical University of Madrid (EuroQCI Spain coordinator) and is held under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance with the support of the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Posts.
Being the successor of QKD Days Madrid 2022 and QCI Days Vienna 2024, this event promises a unique opportunity to discuss the latest trends, present innovative sector solutions and foster new partnerships in the field of quantum communication infrastructure at pan-European level.
Greece's selection as the host country for the event, succeeding Austria, is a great honor for the country, as it demonstrates Europe's recognition of Greece's pivotal role in the EuroQCI initiative. Furthermore, it highlights the cutting-edge technologies implemented by the national quantum communications network, HellasQCI, which contribute to strengthening both national and European innovation in quantum communications.
The event is addressed to stakeholders such as: cybersecurity professionals, IT engineers, security and IT experts, researchers, and practitioners in the field of quantum communications, as well as decision-makers aiming to enhance their organization's security infrastructure.
Moreover, the event brings together representatives from the National Communication Infrastructures (NatQCIs) of EuroQCI, the European Commission, the European Space Agency (ESA), European quantum-centered projects such as Nostradamus and Petrus, stakeholders from public and private sectors, experts from the Digital Europe Programme (DEP) and Quantum Flagship projects, specialists from the optical and quantum technologies industry and heads of Research & Development (R&D) departments to discuss and shape the future of the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI).
This event will provide a valuable opportunity, as the first phase of the EuroQCI approaches completion. Project results, use cases and future plans for the next steps for EuroQCI will be presented.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Attend presentations on the secure quantum technologies ecosystem
- Participate in workshops on architecture and development of EuroQCI
- Engage in discussions with leading experts on Quantum Communication technologies, security certification and standardisation
- Watch a live demonstration of an experimental quantum communication network (QCI) from HellasQCI, QCI-CAT and EuroQCI Spain
- Explore the exhibition area and connect with Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) network suppliers and industry experts
- Network with ongoing Digital Europe Programme (DEP) projects, initiating dialogue with the wider academic and research community, industry and end-users.
Greece, through HellasQCI, plays a key role in the EuroQCI initiative for the development of secure communications across Europe, protecting sensitive data and critical infrastructure. QCI Days 2025 reinforces this commitment, marking a milestone for pan-European cooperation in cybersecurity.
Join us in Athens, the ancient city of Greece which awaits your arrival, to contribute towards a quantum leap into the future, an unforgettable experience, a dynamic and welcoming setting, where you will have the opportunity to connect with the European quantum community experts and exchange the latest trends of the industry and establish new connections.
